Synopses and dates of the next four upcoming Sing Easy with Bel Canto classes.

Transitional areas of the voice, called passaggios by the Italians, can be tricky to navigate. Sometimes sound collapses completely in these parts of a singers range, other times, the quality of tone becomes problematic. Overall inconsistent sound mechanics can often be attributed to what my master teacher called, "passaggio problems!" In many cases, they are actually the majority of challenges we face. In this Sing Easy class, we are going to learn how Bel Canto addresses and eliminates passaggio or transitional-related issues. This will be an experiential and interactive group class. Those registered will also receive a video of the session.

As singers, our perceived barriers to desired personal success are often due to vocal production issues, our ability to connect our voices with visual communication skills and even emotional challenges that seem to thwart our progress. In this Symposium event, each panelist will present three steps to breakthrough, ways in which we can jumpstart and inspire our continued growth and development within the world of competitive a cappella singing.

Join Debra Lynn as she walks us through reversing the signs of aging with Bel Canto understanding. Whether it is vocal fatigue, inconsistent sound, tuning related issues or vibrato and wobbly vocal production, Bel Canto offers us an amazing, and rather magical, ability to stop the issues in their tracks and head us down the path of rejuvenation, helping us find the joy of singing again!

The journey to our singing aspirations in the competitive world, can be beset with obstacles that often seem insurmountable, or at the very least, frustrating. Sometimes, vocal challenges are associated with technique, performance, and perceived artistic limitations. But, oftentimes the source of issues can be elusive, hard to identify and resolve.

We may not come from the same vocal pedagogical approach or have the same teaching or performance experiences behind us, but I know that we agree on one thing, that the singers in our care matter, and to the best of our ability, our desire is to assist them towards more freedom, ease and the ability to pursue their dreams.
